Shielded Twisted-Pair (STP) cables are tailor-made for sending data up to 100 Mb. The wires that carry data through these cables are surrounded by a shielding layer of aluminum polyester foil that keeps outside noise out and intrinsic noise along with a drain wire that diverts interference to ground.
